NON-DUALITY
Quantum Superpositions dictated by Schrodingers equation work perfectly UNTIL the quantum system interacts with a measuring apparatus.
Quantum Mechanics has two distinct laws of evolution (according to von Neumann).
1) The Schrodinger Equation, which gives a deterministic continuous prediction of the future states of the system if the initial state is known.
2) The Reduction or Measurement Postulate (Collapse of the wavefunction), which operates whenever the system is subjected to measurement; now probability enters, for the reduction postulate is a probabilistic statement describing a discontinuous change to the system.
Before measurement there is the coherent superposition, after measurement only the eigenstate of the measured observable. But this reduction cannot be described by Schrodingers equation.
The system then no longer remains in coherent superposition, instead its state is correlated or entangled with that of the apparatus. In a sense it has collapsed, but this has not solved the measurement problem, because the state of the combined system apparatus + quantum system is still a quantum superposition, and we have to apply the reduction postulate to the combined system (system + apparatus) in order to have an answer as tot the state of a system. And this can go on ad infinitum. For them we have a new combined system of (system + apparatus 1 + apparatus 2) which is again a coherent superposition.
This called a von Neumann chain. We cannot avoid a collapse of the wavefunction, at some level or other. And it doesn't seem to matter where you draw the line.

This problem - known as the von Neumann chain – is a regression of measuring devices, whose stopping point is presumed to be the conscious mind (i.e. not a purely physical measurement device, but a conscious entity who actually reads said measurement, effectively stopping the chain).

Solution
von Neumann's own solution to the problem of quantum measurement was to suggest (and later Wigner supported the idea) that since the quantum system never does collapse from within the manifold of quantum mechanical systems, the answer must be a jump out of the system. He said that our consciousness terminates the von Neumann chain, because we know a conscious state is never dichotomic; consciousness must be outside the jurisdiction of Schrodinger evolution.
Only Consciousness can collapse the wavefunction!!
The Key point is quantum systems and their superposition states are timeless, and it is only consciousness that collapses the wavefunction. But what if we choose NOT to collapse it? Actually that is impossible because the separate self is collapsed.
Nondual self is rides the wave. Complexity makes the world 'seem' solid with time moving forward, but that is ONLY AN ILLUSION!
2 Quantum reasons Macro world 'seems' solid and real with time moving forward
1) Debroglie wavelength large masses incredibly small - superposition states negligible but present
2) Regeneration time incredibly slow but present
Memories in brain are complex but CAN BE REVERSED! Aging in the body is complex, but CAN BE REVERSED. Everything is quantum, only large complex things like the brain and body approximate classical (no superpositions), and one way time (long
Living more quantum mechanically quickens regeneration time, and reverses psychological memories and aging!!

Collapse; Possibility wave becomes a particle.
Usually collapse denotes a disintegration, but in quantum mechanics it is literally something coming from nothing. Possibility becomes actuality.
But how can an observer that is possibility waves collapse an object which is also possibility waves?
Or another way of saying it, is what allows nonlocal consciousness to identify with the brain?
The brain is a tangled hierarchy of of perception and memory, both of which need each other (yes, perceptions require memory).
Tangled hierarchy is an oscillation between two extremes (I am a liar).
Observer arises after the collapse, the change from possibility to actuality. In the process both the subject (identification of consciousness w/ tangled hierarchy of the brain), and object (change from possibility to Actuality) both take place in the same process of choice. Consciousness chooses, and out of that choice is born the observer as well as what is observed.
For the brain, the observer is the observed. Both arise together on the same screen of consciousness. There is not some little homunculus looking at the electrical images presented by the retina and occipital cortex (vision center). There is not some little Me watching a little metaphorical TV set in your head.
The observer and the observed are the same, there is no difference. The observer arises because consciousness is identified with this whole tangled hierarchy of memory and perception. The whole apparatus that we call the brain that is the mystery of how consciousness becomes embodied.
This mystery cannot be solved with scientific materialism which is a science of only objects. But objects can only give you objects.
You can never get a subject separate from the object starting with objects, you have to start with Consciousness. It is the only way Manifestation, Perception and Reality can "work"!

**Non-duality Thought of the Day: The Observer is the Observed!
This quote is having a powerful influence on me. Everything that you see and observe is actually YOU, pure consciousness. There is no other. There is no world 'out there'. You verily contain the world, are the world, in each observation. There is not a subjective 'inside' either, there is only nondual Suchness, Just This, which what arises each moment as perceptions, thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the field of pure choiceless awareness. The Observer IS the Observed!
Interestingly quantum mechanics confirms this fact, which is why quantum mechanics is so puzzling for just about everyone (myself included).
Think this through... Taking vision as an example, is there some little Me inside your head viewing the "T.V. Set" of electrical images presented by the retina and occipital cortex (visual center in the brain). No, for the brain the observer IS the observed. The two arise together and the 'screen' of consciousness contains them both, is them both and beyond them both.
To go beyond the brain or conditioned egoic mind that mistakenly sees the observer and observe as separate, you have to realize the both observer and observed arise from Universal consciousness (the screen) which is always Oneness. There just is no duality, always Oneness. Two-ness is the great illusion of Maya or the Conditioned Brain/Mind.
I also love this related quote by Krishnamurti:
“In the gap between subject and object lies the entire misery of humankind.”

Observer Created Universe/Measurement Problem
The term “observer effect” in physics refers to changes that the act of observation will make on the phenomenon being observed.
In quantum theory this is sometimes referred to as the "measurement problem" and it's an enigma that has stumped, baffled, puzzled, and left physicists looking the other way at trying to understand Quantum mechanics and using it for engineering and practical purposes only.
Richard Feynman, Noble Prize winner, said, “I think I can safely say that nobody understands Quantum Mechanics”.
Behind all the uncertainty in quantum theory, the measurement problem brings consciousness to the rescue. It seems very clear that a living observer halts the randomness. That is, things exist in all possible states until a conscious observer, freezes, or pins it down to a single state. This is referred to as the collapse of the wave function. The wave function describes the probability of a quantum entity existing in certain states.
The world at large (our perception of reality) stays molded in its real and concrete state so long as conscious observers are involved. It's consciousness that creates order out of the foaming sea of quantum randomness! Not
In Newton's physics, there is no need for an observer. The Universe and world exists independent of us. A tree exists whether someone is watching it or not. But that is not the way the universe works according to the more accurate quantum field theory. The tree and everything in the universe exist ONLY because we observe it. Without a conscious observer the universe is only a superposition of possibilities, a sea of randomness where all possibilities exist, but no Reality is formed.
In the next section we'll introduce Quantum field theory, especially the idea of a Field being the fundamental element in the universe, not the particle. This is the basis and foundation for understanding the New Physics and the New Biology and the basis and foundation of the new science of energy medicine and PEMF therapy. We have touched on this already, but let's discuss it in a little more detail.

Cosmic Quantum Consciousness - Science within Consciousness
Erwin Schrodinger, one of the founders of quantum physics himself wrote in the appendix of "What is Life" (1944): "Consciousness is a singular, for which there is no plural."
Nonlocal connections are a result of the unitive quantum consciousness.
Quantum Objects are waves of possibility. Waves can be at more than one place at the same time (sound source). Quantum objects spread out like waves and they have the same wavelike characteristics of having more than one facet at the same time. There only special feature is that the simultaneously occurring facets of quantum objects are POSSIBLE facets. In one observation one facet may show up, in another observation, a different facet may show up.
A choice is needed to convert possibility to Actuality/Reality.
Because it is our observation of a quantum object that collapses the quantum wave of many possible facets into a unique event of actuality that we experience, we MUST say that it is our consciousness that chooses.
So in quantum physics, the agent of downward causation is recognized as the consciousness of a human being (von Neumann 1955; Goswami 1989, 1993; Stapp 1993).

We "choose" not from our ego consciousness, but from a unitive consciousness, call it cosmic quantum consciousness of God Consciousness. Ego consciousness is habit bound and classical.
Collapse = Choice (decision) and comes from God Consciousness/Creativity … No quantum leap in ego/habitual thinking.
Collapse of quantum possibility waves is not gradual in space and time but rather a discontinuous event without a mathematical or mechanical description. Bohr called the discontinuity quantum jumps.
“If all this damned quantum jumping were really here to stay, I should be sorry, I should be sorry I ever got involved with quantum theory.”
— Erwin Schrödinger

Subject Object Duality Arise Together
The totality of the cosmos is being continuously re-created at each moment.
Even in the habit bound separate self, we are continously creating the Cosmos around us.
The entire universe (matter and consciousness as well as the fabric of space and time) is a single holographic quantum wavefunction that is regenerated continuously. The continuing existence of the universe around us depends upon its unbroken generative power. Because all that exists continuously arises anew, each person, object, and place has a characteristic wavefunction that is produced in the process of continuous creation. Every person and place has a unique personality, or “song,” that is intrinsic to its nature and wonderfully created, connected and resonating with the whole each moment.
Objective reality and subjective consciousness arise together with each collapse in each moment.

But if you accept a life created reality at its face value, it becomes understandable. Take the seemingly undeniable logic that your kitchen is always present. You think its contents assume its familiar shapes and colors whether or not you are in it. But consider the colors and shapes of your kitchen are seen because the particles of light from the overhead bulb bounce off the various objects and interact with your brain through a complex set of retinal and neural intermediates. But on its own, light doesn't have any color, or brightness or any visual characteristics at all, it's merely an electromagnetic wave.
You think the kitchen is there in your absence, but the reality is that nothing remotely resembling what you perceive as your kitchen could possibly be there without your consciousness interacting with it.
Quantum physics comes at it from a much hotter angle and arrives at the same conclusion. But really it turns out your oven, fridge, etc are composed of a shivering swarm of energy and the results of quantum physics such as the double slit experiment, tell us, that not a single one of those particles or any of those objects exists in a definite space until you observe them. Rather they exists in a range of probabilities or waves of probability as Max Born once. Outside of that fact there is nothing there just statistical probabilities of particles existing in certain locations. So if they are not being observed, that cannot be thought of as having any real existence, either duration or position in space. It is only in the presence of the observer, that is when you go to the kitchen for a drink of water that the mind actually sets the scaffolding of these particles in place. It is not until the mind lays down the threads somewhere in that haze of probabilities that is described by the uncertainty principle can they be thought of as being either here or there or having actual position or physical reality

Interpretations
Copenhagen
Objects are only in possibilities or superpositions until measured
The outcome of observation heavily depends on the constitution of the measuring device which is a manifestation of the intention of the scientist.
Different eigenfunctions and corresponding eigenvectors for different observables which depend on the measuring device.
We force and pin down the wild and free nature of Mother Nature to assume one type of outcome. Measurements are never seeing Reality as it is, but rather the particular way we look at it.
Performing a measurement on a quantum system throws the system out of the nondual superposition state and into an actual eigenstate.
The wavefunction can collapse with an observer, but the measuring device is made by human thought and intention.

Zeno Effect in Quantum Mechanics
One can "freeze" the evolution of the system by measuring it frequently enough in its (known) initial state. Measurement/ interactions with environment, stochastic fields.
The act of looking at an atom prevents it from changing
Zeno's arrow paradox which states that, since an arrow in flight is not seen to move during any single instant, it cannot possibly be moving at all.

The double slit experiment is absolutely impossible to explain in any classical way and has in it the heart of quantum mechanics.
In reality, it contains the only mystery."
- Richard Feynman
A lot can be learned conceptually about Quantum Mechanics from the double slit actual experiment and Schrondinger's Cat thought experiment. All the central mysteries of quantum mechanics lurk in these two examples, such as the wave-particle duality, the uncertainty principle, superposition, entanglement, and the measurement problem. If you deeply understand this experiment, even conceptually, you'll be on firm ground in understanding how quantum mechanics confirms the non-dual nature of the Universe

The Central Mystery of Quantum Mechanics
A gun (obeying classical physics) sprays bullets towards a target. Before they reach the target, they must pass through a screen with two slits. If bullets go through the slits they will most likely land directly behind the slit, but if they come in at a slight angle, they will land slightly to the sides. The resulting pattern is a map of the likelihood of a bullet landing at each point.

![Picture](/uploads/4/5/1/6/4516117/published/2021-12-08-14-14-33_5.png)
The above two-slit pattern happens to be simply the sum of the patterns for each slit considered separately: if half the bullets were fired with only the left slit open and then half were fired with just the right slit open, the result would be the same.
With waves, however, the result is very different, because of interference. If the slits were opened one at a time, the pattern would resemble that for bullets: two distinct peaks. But when both slits are open, the waves pass through both slits at once and interfere with each other: where they are in phase they reinforce each other; where they are out of phase they cancel each other out.

Now the quantum paradox:
Electrons, like bullets, strike the target one at a time. Yet, like waves, they create an interference pattern.

If each electron passes individually through one slit, with what does it “interfere?” Although each electron arrives at the target at a single place and time, it seems that each has passed through – or somehow felt the presence of both slits at once. Thus, the electron is understood in terms of a wave-particle duality.
The wave-particle duality is the central mystery of quantum mechanics–the one to which all others can ultimately be reduced.
